Job summary
Gadsden State Community College seeks an Audio/Video Technician I to provide audio/visual support for campus events, meetings, live streams, and podcasts. Responsibilities include setup, operation, and troubleshooting of A/V equipment, and assisting ITS staff with imaging, moving equipment, running cables, and inventory tasks.
Requirements include two years of postsecondary education with at least 15 semester hours in relevant fields and one year of related experience.
Qualifications
- Two years of postsecondary education with at least 15 semester hours in audio engineering, media production, broadcasting, computer science, electronics or related area
- One year of experience in a related position to include audio/visual support
- Experience supporting audio/visual systems in a classroom, conference, or event environment preferred
- Friendly personality with strong work ethic and good human relations
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio/visual equipment for campus events, meetings, and presentations
- Provide live streaming support for campus events with reliable AV quality
- Assist with podcast production, including microphone setup, audio capture, and basic editing
- Configure and operate sound boards/mixers for live events and ensure proper levels
- Coordinate with faculty and staff to understand event requirements and provide appropriate AV solutions
- Test presentation materials (PowerPoint, OBS, Canva, ProPresenter) for smooth delivery
