Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years postsecondary education in an approved program with at least 15 semester hours in audio engineering, media production, broadcasting, computer science, electronics, or related area.
• 1 year of experience in a related audio/visual support position is required.
• Experience in classroom/conference/event AV support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV equipment for events and meetings.

• Configure sound boards/mixers to ensure proper audio levels and feedback prevention.

Summary

The Audio/Video Technician I is responsible for providing audio and visual support for college events and meetings as well as providing support for live-streaming events, and podcasts. These duties will include editing audio and video. Additionally, the Audio/Video Technician I will provide support to ITS staff for other duties such as imaging computers, moving equipment, running cable, and tracking inventory for IT devices and supplies.

Examples of duties

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio/visual equipment for campus events, meetings, andpresentations, including microphones, speakers, projectors, and displays
• Provide live streaming support for campus events, ensuring reliable audio/video quality acrossplatforms and resolving issues in real time
• Assist with podcast production, including microphone setup, audio capture, basic editing, andtechnical troubleshooting
• Configure and operate sound boards/mixers for live events, ensuring proper audio levels, clarity, andfeedback prevention
• Coordinate with faculty and staff to understand event requirements and to provide appropriate A/Vsolutions and technical support
• Test presentation materials, including PowerPoint, OBS, Canva, and ProPresenter to ensure smoothdelivery during meetings and events
• Provide support to ITS staff for other duties such as imaging computers, moving equipment, runningcable, tracking, delivering and installing inventory for IT devices and printer supplies

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of postsecondary education from an approved U.S. Department of Educationaccredited institution with a minimum of 15 semester hours in audio engineering, media production, broadcasting, computer science, electronics or related area required

• One (1) year of experience in a related position to include audio/visual support required
• Experience supporting audio/visual systems in a classroom, conference, or event environment preferred

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of appropriate audio and video technologies related to events, meetings, podcasts, and live streaming
• Proficient in setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of audio and video systems (projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, and software-based controls)
• Strong understanding of audio signal flow and gain structure
• Experience with video signal types and standards such as HDMI and DisplayPort
• Ability to operate and support digital signal processors (DSPs) and audio mixers
• Familiarity with AV over IP systems and network-based media distribution (Cat6)
• Experience live-streaming on platforms such as YouTube and Facebook
• Experience supporting video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx)
• Strong diagnostic skills for identifying and resolving A/V system issues quicklyAbility to manage multiple priorities and assignments
• Ability to work a flexible schedule for events that may take place outside of normal operating hours

SALARY: Salary Schedule E3-4, ($41,349 - $59,541) Based on the 2026-2027 ACCS Salary Schedules (9-month). Salary will be based on VERIFIED education and years of VERIFIED
