Job summary
UC San Diego is seeking an Electronics Technician to install and service audiovisual systems across campus and medical facilities. You will work on projects from small rooms to large conference suites, mounting displays, wiring, and control systems while ensuring safety and adherence to codes.
The role requires hands-on AV installation, on-site troubleshooting, and occasional travel. Evening and weekend availability may be needed to meet project schedules and support UCSD operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience installing complete audiovisual packages including projectors, displays, wiring, and control systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and ensure safe, code-compliant installations.
- Knowledge of AV system integration and ability to troubleshoot on site.
Responsibilities
- Install AV equipment for campus and medical facilities from small to complex systems.
- Alter existing AV systems and structures as needed.
- Install complete AV packages including projectors, displays, wiring, control systems, and sound/video gear.
- Troubleshoot and repair AV equipment, diagnose malfunctions.
- Maintain and repair AV Event Support vehicles and related equipment.
- Travel as required and work evenings/weekends when needed.
