Job summary

Associated Students, San Diego State University is seeking a part-time Media Studio Technician to provide AV support, customer service, and policy adherence for the Backdoor Media Studio in the Aztec Student Union. The role includes scheduling reservations and ensuring equipment is maintained and safe.

The position requires SDSU enrollment and involves working evenings and weekends with a maximum of 20 hours per week. Compensation is hourly and aligned with the SDSU student employment guidelines.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Must be enrolled at SDSU at least half-time (undergrad 6 units; grad 3 units).
• Experience with setup, operation, and tear-down of AV gear is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees setup, operation, and teardown of AV equipment for bookings.
• Troubleshoots technical issues during reservations and gaps between bookings.
• Ensures safety and proper maintenance of all equipment.
• Schedules Backdoor Media Studio reservations and documents bookings.
• Provides excellent customer service to Backdoor Media Studio clients.
