Job summary

The University Student Union at California State University, Northridge is seeking a Student Audio Visual Technician to manage day-to-day AV setups and tear-downs for events, ensuring smooth operation of audio, video and related equipment.

Under the supervision of the Technical Coordinator, you will support events, troubleshoot on-site issues, perform basic maintenance, and coordinate with clients to meet technical needs while maintaining organized storage and equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be a CSUN student and eligible to work on campus.
• Experience in AV services or related field preferred.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down AV equipment for events, including audio, video, projectors and cables.
• Support events with sound and video needs using available equipment and interfaces.
• Keep AV storage areas organized and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Perform basic cable repairs and preventative maintenance on speakers and projection gear.
• Operate AV equipment during events and coordinate with clients to meet technical requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues on-site and resolve production problems quickly.
• Assist with various facility-related projects as assigned.
• Support field team tasks as needed and be flexible with schedules.
