Job summary

STR’s Analytics & C2 (AC2) Division is seeking an Autonomy Software Engineer to design, implement, and test advanced algorithms for autonomous platforms. You will contribute across the software lifecycle, from prototyping to integrated systems, in a flexible hybrid setting based in Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA, with remote options when possible.

We’re looking for a U.S. citizen with 2+ years in C++ or Java, strong backend skills, and experience with agile processes, JIRA, and SonarQube.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen.
• BS in Computer Science or related technical field with 2+ years’ experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with C++ or Java.
• Full stack development experience with a heavy focus on backend algorithmic development.
• Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization of backend executables.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, integrate, and test algorithms and software.
• Experience utilizing Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Familiar with Agile software lifecycle methodologies and tools (JIRA, SonarQube).
• Demonstrated ability to adopt new languages, libraries, and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software for autonomous platforms.
• Support programs through the software and system development lifecycle from prototypes to integrated systems.
• Develop tools and applications for mission planning systems, automated control processes, unmanned platforms, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
