Job summary

STR’s Analytics & CAC Group seeks an Autonomy Algorithms Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and test advanced algorithms for autonomous platforms. You will lead and mentor engineers across the software lifecycle, from prototyping to integration, ensuring robust, scalable backend systems.

Based in Arlington, VA or Woburn, MA with hybrid/remote flexibility, you will collaborate with researchers and external customers, driving best practices in testing, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; U.S. citizenship required.
• BS in Computer Science or related field; 7+ years of experience.
• 5+ years with C++ or Java.
• Full stack development with backend focus.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and optimization of backend executables.
• Ability to develop, implement, integrate, and test autonomy algorithms and software.
• Willingness to avoid Front end UI/UX or database management.
• Ability to translate complex mathematical concepts to software.

Responsibilities
