Job summary

STR is seeking an AutonomySoftware Engineer to design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms for autonomous platforms. You will support programs through the full software lifecycle and develop tools for mission planning, autonomous control, and CI/CD pipelines.

This role offers a flexible hybrid environment based in the US, with remote work possible when not requiring STR facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field with 2+ years’ experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with C++ or Java.
• Full stack development with backend algorithmic focus.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and optimization.
• Ability to develop, implement, integrate, and test algorithms and software.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, SonarQube).
• Ability to adopt new languages, libraries, and technologies.
• Embedded/physical device programming experience is a plus.
• Active security clearance is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software systems for autonomous platforms.
• Support programs across the software lifecycle from prototypes to integrated systems.
• Develop software tools for mission planning, automated control, unmanned platforms, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
