Job summary

STR’s Collaborative Autonomy and Control (CAC) Group seeks an Autonomy Algorithms Lead Software Engineer to design, implement, and integrate advanced algorithms for autonomous systems. You will lead teams through the software lifecycle, from prototyping to deployment, and mentor engineers in a hybrid role based in Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA.

Your background includes Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, a CS degree, and 7+ years in software, with 5+ years in C++/Java.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field with 7+ years of experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 5+ years of experience with C++ or Java.
• Full stack development with a heavy focus on backend algorithmic development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software for autonomous platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the software lifecycle.
• Develop tools for mission planning systems, automated control processes, unmanned platforms, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with research scientists to translate complex mathematical concepts into software applications.
