Job summary

STR is seeking an Autonomy Algorithms Senior Software Engineer in Arlington, VA, or nearby locations. You will design, implement and test autonomous software and complex algorithms for unmanned platforms and mission planning systems, with a backend emphasis.

You will mentor engineers, contribute across the SDLC, and help deploy DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines. A security clearance is required; collaborative, agile teams thrive in hybrid work.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field with 5+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of experience with C++ or Java.
• Full stack development experience but with a heavy focus on backend algorithmic development.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization of backend executables.
• Ability to develop, implement, integrate, and test autonomy algorithms and software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software systems for autonomous platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the software lifecycle.
• Develop tools and apps for mission planning, autonomous platforms, DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
