Job summary

SSCI, Inc. seeks a Lead Autonomy Engineer to guide a small engineering team on mission autonomy programs. You will drive R&D in autonomous decision-making, planning under uncertainty, and world modeling while coordinating with customers and stakeholders.

The role requires leadership in proposals, interaction with customers, and staying current with autonomy trends. Hybrid work is offered with benefits and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 7+ years in autonomy tech or a Master with 5+ years or a PhD with 2+ years in related engineering roles.
• Proven team leadership and proposal/win contracts experience.
• Experience building/integrating software for edge platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop innovative autonomy solutions aligned with customer requirements.
• Serve as SME in mission autonomy technologies and related RdA efforts.
• Support or lead marketing and proposals for mission autonomy programs.
• Oversee milestones and customer-facing interactions; travel as needed.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to advance R&D roadmaps.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in autonomy.
