Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation seeks a Principal Engineer–Autonomy & Active Safety to lead engineering efforts for advanced driver assistance systems and unmanned ground vehicles. You will develop embedded C/C++ software, create APIs, and drive model-based designs using MATLAB/Simulink, contributing to complex, cross-functional programs.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with five (5) or more years of related experience.
• Experience with active safety systems and autonomous platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with C#, PLCs, Python, and SQL databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts for active safety and autonomous vehicle systems.
• Develop software in embedded C/C++ and create APIs for application code.
• Use model-based tools like MATLAB/Simulink to design control strategies.
• Perform design, verification, and validation across vehicle platforms.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams; manage project scope and budget.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to standard engineering methodologies.
