Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of the autonomous system on Komatsu 930E haul trucks. This role involves hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance and assisting with autonomous system conversions.

The position offers structured training, opportunities to advance toward Tier 1 certification, and exposure to cutting-edge autonomous mining technology across diverse site conditions with rotational shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical docs for heavy machinery.
• Strong diagnostic skills for mechanical/electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks in autonomous settings.
• Assist with autonomous system conversions, commissioning, and diagnostics.
• Conduct routine maintenance on suspension, braking, hoist, and steering components.
• Support autonomous haulage system functions including escort duties and system restarts.
• Maintain accurate service records and escalate issues per protocols.
• Communicate with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff.
• Participate in training modules toward Tier 1 certification within Komatsu's autonomous pathway.
• Adhere to safety and environmental policies.
