Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of our AHS on Komatsu 930E haul trucks. You will gain hands-on experience in autonomous mining systems, performing mechanical and electrical maintenance and assisting with system conversions.

You will work with a dedicated team to keep autonomous trucks safe and productive, adapting to site conditions, shifts, and outdoor environments while advancing your technical skills through Komatsu

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations in rugged environments.
• Preferred certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on heavy machinery, including ability to interpret schematics and manuals.
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues using systematic diagnostic methods.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts and exposed outdoor conditions with high-noise mining environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to cooperate with supervisors and operational staff.
• Commitment to continuous learning in autonomous mining technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks to ensure safe autonomous operation.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 technicians in conversion to autonomous operation, including commissioning and diagnostics.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on suspensions, brakes, hoist, and steering to uphold safety and reliability.
• Assist with Autonomous Haulage System functions including escort duties, restarts, and obstacle management.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols for complex issues.
• Communicate with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff to ensure readiness.
• Engage in structured training toward Tier 1 certification within Komatsu's autonomous pathway.
• Strictly follow safety and environmental policies on site.
