Job summary

Empower Rental Group in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Field Service Technician (Heavy Equipment) to operate with a high degree of autonomy on customer sites. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, using a service truck and company tools to maximize uptime.

This role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, a valid driver's license, and strong customer service skills. You will collaborate with the in-house team when not in the field and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction and/or aerial lift equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a dynamic field environment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with modern diagnostics tools and mobile technology for work orders and documentation.
• Own a comprehensive set of mechanical tools.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to perform urgent service calls, complex diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Maintain and stock the service truck to be prepared for challenges.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections at customer locations to prevent issues.
• Use company laptop/tablet to manage work orders, look up parts, and document repairs.
• Communicate with customers on-site, provide updates, and train on equipment use.
• Assist in-house team with complex repairs and mentor other technicians.
