Job summary

Empower Rental Group is hiring a Field Service Technician in Warner Robins, GA. The role involves operating autonomously from a service truck, performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a diverse heavy equipment fleet at customer sites.

You will document work orders, communicate with customers, and assist with shop tasks when not in the field. A strong background in diesel, hydraulic, powertrain, and electrical systems is required.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction and/or aerial lift equipment.
• A valid driver’s license may be required on a case-by-case basis.
• Excellent customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and manage priorities.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficient with modern diagnostics tools and mobile technology for work orders.
• Completes rental equipment preparation by the delivery date.
• Maintains a ready line and achieves quality standards.
• Owns a comprehensive set of mechanical tools.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer job sites to perform urgent service calls, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose issues with powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools.
• Complete complex repairs and service on fleet and company vehicles.
• Maintain and stock your service truck to be ready for field work.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections at customer locations to prevent issues.
• Document repairs and service orders using a laptop/tablet.
• Communicate professionally with customers and train them on proper equipment use.
• Assist in loading/unloading fleet orders and support the shop when not in the field.
