Job summary

AutoNation is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair electric autonomous vehicles operated by the Waymo Driver. You will join a team in a fast-paced service environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The role requires automotive experience, EV knowledge is preferred, and hybrid/EV training is a plus. You will perform inspections, document findings, and collaborate with AutoNation and Waymo teammates to accelerate workflows while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two+ years automotive experience.
• Electric Vehicle experience preferred.
• Hybrid or EV training and experience a plus.
• Automotive technical training.
• Have tools.
• Must have a valid, in-state driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric vehicles.
• Inspecting and performing initial vehicle setup for autonomous fleet operation and testing.
• Collaborating with AutoNation and Waymo associates, and partnering with teammates to improve processes and expedite workflow.
• Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
• Performing high quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.
• Conducting multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
• Provide guidance to technician team, and effectively communicate with Associates regarding required service and parts needs.
• Performing all repairs according to work instructions and documenting results.
• Operating all equipment in the Service Center in a safe and productive manner, following Safety Standards.
• Inspecting and testing all work performed as a QC measure as soon as jobs are completed.
• Maintaining an inventory of Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service Department.
• Keeping abreast of technical information and participating in offered training classes as appropriate.
• Understanding and following federal, state, and local regulations that affect Service Center operations.
• Gaining superior product knowledge to provide high quality repairs.
