Job summary

Wayve in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Fleet Service and Maintenance Technician to keep our autonomous vehicle fleet safe, reliable, and ready for tests and demonstrations. Reporting to the Fleet Service Manager, you will perform scheduled servicing, diagnose faults with OEM tools, and ensure vehicles meet high standards of cleanliness, reliability, and functionality for public-facing use.

The role requires hands‑on mechanical knowledge, experience with diagnostic equipment, and strong collaboration

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in automotive servicing and diagnostics.
Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a fleet or automotive service environment.
Strong troubleshooting using OEM/third‑party diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Routine & Preventative Maintenance – Execute scheduled servicing per guidelines.
Mechanical & Electrical Fault Resolution – Diagnose and repair issues using diagnostic equipment.
Vehicle Readiness for Demonstrations – Ensure vehicles meet cleanliness, reliability, and functionality standards.
Workshop Safety & Compliance – Adhere to safety practices and regulations.
Repair Documentation & Tracking – Record faults and parts used in digital tools.
Feedback into Fleet Performance – Communicate recurring issues or improvement ideas.
Customer‑Facing Communication – Engage with fleet drivers to resolve issues.
