Job summary

AutoNation is seeking an Advanced Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Technician in Texas to perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and calibrations on autonomous fleets. You will work on high-voltage systems, LiDAR, radar, cameras, CAN/LIN networks, and AV computer hardware, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to resolve escalated issues.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience as automotive/EV/AV technician.
• Strong diagnostic experience with mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on AV powertrain, high-voltage, and subsystems.
• Diagnose, repair, and validate faults involving CAN/LIN networks and AV computer hardware.
• Calibrate LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS units, IMUs, and perception systems; validate sensor alignment.
• Install, configure, and replace AV components; support software deployments and data extraction.
• Execute test plans, collect vehicle data, and provide feedback on firmware/hardware performance.
• Document repairs and diagnostics in fleet management systems; drive continuous improvement.
