Job summary

Pep Boys in West Hartford, CT is seeking an automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, and to lead a team in delivering superior customer service. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions while working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of diagnostic/repair experience, and ASE certifications (4+ preferred). State inspections and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus 2 from listed modules).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license, if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, exhaust, suspension, electrical, A/C and more to specifications.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and colleagues.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians to improve customer care.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
• Maintain organized, safe, and compliant shop environment.
