Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will explain technical findings to customers and teammates, stay current with evolving automotive tech, and mentor junior staff as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year of hands-on automotive experience, and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (e.g., A4, A5).
• 609 certification preferred; state inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.
• Availability for days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, and alignment.
• Perform maintenance services and assist fellow technicians as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and teammates.
• Stay updated on automotive technology through formal training.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe shop environment.
