Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services, delivering a superior customer experience. You will explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers while continuously learning to stay current with automotive technology.

The role includes mentoring teammates and maintaining a clean, safe shop. Qualified candidates possess a High School Diploma or GED and relevant automotive repair experience, with ASE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year of automotive mechanical diagnosis and repair experience preferred.
2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5).
Section 609 certification preferred.
State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
Continuously learn new technical information to stay updated with automotive technology.
Assist fellow technicians and keep the shop organized and safe.
Notify management of repair problems as they occur.
Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
