Job summary

Pep Boys in Waterbury, CT seeks a Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers, stay updated with automotive tech, and mentor others.

A strong focus on safety and shop organization is required. The role requires a high school diploma, 1+ year of hands-on diagnostic/repair experience, and ASE certifications (A4/A5) preferred, plus a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; ASE certifications preferred.
• Section 609 certification preferred; State Inspection license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and co-workers.
• Mentor fellow technicians and maintain a clean, safe shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
