Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers and stay updated with evolving automotive technology.

In this role you will train and mentor others, maintain a clean, safe shop, and consistently adhere to company policies. A proactive, team-oriented attitude and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2 or more ASE certifications are PREFERRED (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification PREFERRED.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brakes, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of lower technician roles as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and colleagues.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians and maintain an organized, safe shop.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
