Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and teammates, and continuously learn new techniques to stay current with automotive technology.

You will mentor co-workers, maintain a clean, safe shop, and work with store management on repair issues.

Qualifications

• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform maintenance services and assist other technicians.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and colleagues.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
• Maintain an organized, safe shop and adhere to policies.
