Job summary
Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. The role requires explaining technical diagnoses and needed repairs to coworkers and customers, and staying current with evolving automotive technology.
The position also involves mentoring peers, maintaining a clean, safe shop, and following all company policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 6 months automotive repair experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.
- Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including employees and customers.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
- Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
- Maintain an organized and neat shop and adhere to company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
