Job summary

Pep Boys in Burbank, CA is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services, delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers, stay updated with evolving automotive tech, and mentor others while maintaining a clean, safe shop.

A valid driver's license and ASE certifications are preferred. Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends is required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
Section 609 certification preferred.
State Inspection license if applicable.
Valid driver's license required.
Pre-employment background check completed.
Ability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment.
Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanics as required.
Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
Keep management informed of ongoing mechanical repair problems.
Maintain an organized and neat shop.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
