Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers, and stay updated with evolving automotive technology.

You will mentor fellow technicians, maintain a clean, safe shop, and adhere to company policies. Valid driver’s license, background check, and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred; state inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical individuals as needed.
• Continuously learn new automotive tech information in training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians and keep management informed of repair problems.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and adhere to safety policies.
