Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a proactive Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering outstanding customer experience. You will explain repairs clearly and stay current with evolving automotive tech. Training and mentoring teammates is also expected.

The role requires 1+ year of hands-on automotive experience, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license. Flexibility for days, nights, weekends is expected in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license preferred.
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver27s license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform duties of a Mechanic and General Service Technician.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and non-technical staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive tech in formal training sessions.
• Assist other technicians in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair issues.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and follow safety/environmental rules.
