Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer service. You will explain diagnoses to customers and coworkers, learn new techniques, and mentor teammates. A clean, safe shop and compliance with policies are essential.

You must be able to work days, nights, and weekends, and possess a valid driver’s license. 6 months of experience and an ASE-related certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of General Service Technician.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to coworkers and customers.
• Continuously learn new technical information through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
