Job summary

Pep Boys in Marietta is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tires and automotive systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers, and stay current with evolving automotive technology through ongoing training.

This role requires at least 1 year of diagnostic and repair experience, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension and A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications: brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, and maintenance services.
• Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals when required.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
