Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking a professional Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience.

You will explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and coworkers, stay updated with evolving automotive technology, and mentor teammates as needed. The role requires a strong focus on safety and shop cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians with technical activities.
• Notify management of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean shop.
