Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tires and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experience.

You will explain diagnoses to customers and coworkers, stay updated with evolving automotive technology, and mentor teammates. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 6 months of repair experience, with ASE/609 certification preferred and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 6 months of automotive mechanical problem‑solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, and maintenance services.
• Perform duties of General Service Technician as needed.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non‑mechanical coworkers and customers.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in mechanical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
