Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services, while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and co-workers, and stay updated with evolving automotive technology.

The role requires mentoring junior staff and maintaining a clean, safe work area. This on-site position offers a competitive pay range, benefits, and opportunities to gain ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2 or more ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (employees or customers) as needed.
• Continuously learn new techniques in formal training sessions to stay updated with automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and keep management informed of repair issues.
