Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain diagnoses to customers and coworkers, continually learn new techniques, mentor colleagues, and maintain a clean, safe shop in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brake, hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including employees and customers.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
