Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive systems while delivering outstanding customer service. The role emphasizes explaining technical needs to customers and co-workers, continuous learning, and mentoring others.

A successful candidate maintains a clean, safe shop and follows all company policies. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of automotive experience and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems; perform maintenance services.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Stay updated with automotive technology through training.
• Mentor fellow technicians and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
