Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to professionally inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer service. You will explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and coworkers, staying updated with evolving automotive technology and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires 6 months of repair experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months automotive repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
• Perform duties of General Service Technician.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including customers and employees.
• Continuously learn new technical information through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
