Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering exceptional customer service. You will explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers, and continually learn new techniques in a fast-evolving automotive environment.

You will mentor teammates, maintain a clean, safe shop, and adhere to all policies. The role requires ASE certifications, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work various shifts including

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license and clean background.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment; perform maintenance services.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
