Maintenance Technician A

Overview

Transdev in Lancaster, California is seeking an experienced B-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Compensation
  • Competitive compensation package: minimum $34.00/hr ($70,720 annually) – maximum $41.00/hr ($85,280 annually)

Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
  • Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe for our customers.
  • Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including the repair of brakes, HVAC systems, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, electrical systems, drivability and other repairs.
  • Assist with road calls and emergency service repairs.
  • Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferred.
  • 21 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
  • Good fabrication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 5+ years of automotive or electric vehicle repair employment experience or combination of education & experience.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including a background and a drug test.
  • Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
  • Subject to a DOT drug test and physical if applicable.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform work in all weather conditions.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, standing.
  • Work environment will be a combination of indoor and outdoor settings.
