This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various transit vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our transit vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on transit vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Read and interpret safety documents, blue‑prints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
  • Coach and monitor team members
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D)
  • Must have automotive maintenance experience
  • Appropriate ASE certifications: ASE certification program provided.
  • Mechanic’s Tool Set
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Must have CDL Class A/B with pax Endorsement
Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 100 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
