FullSpeed Automotive is seeking an Assistant Manager in Carol Stream, IL to support store leadership and ensure fast, friendly automotive service. The role blends time in the service bay, front counter, and back office, with a focus on coaching teams and delivering a great customer experience.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years in retail or automotive leadership, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a retail, automotive service, or customer-facing leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that includes time in the service bay.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills; comfortable using point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in quick-lube, automotive service, or a related industry.
• Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance services (oil changes, fluid checks, filters, etc.).
• Experience supervising or training team members in a retail or service environment.
• ASE certification(s) or willingness to obtain certifications as required by brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations in the Store Manager's absence and lead the location.
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians and service advisors to deliver high-quality service.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure coverage during peak hours and busy seasons.
• Onboard and train new team members on service procedures and POS systems.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment reflecting company values.
• Greet customers, explain services, and promote additional services as appropriate.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating as needed.
• Manage daily store operations including cash handling and POS transactions.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering; maintain clean, presentable shop and customer areas.
• Support safety protocols and track performance metrics to reach store goals.
