Job summary

Pep Boys Inc in Escondido, CA is seeking a customer-focused retail associate to support service desk operations, sales floor, and register activities. You will engage customers, schedule appointments, and help sell parts and services that keep vehicles running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year of automotive service experience. Sales experience is a plus and basic math skills are needed for calculations.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.
• At least 1 year experience in automotive service.
• At least 1 year sales experience preferred.
• Basic math skills for commissions and discounts.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers in-store or on the phone; engage customers, schedule appointments, understand needs, and sell parts and services.
• Organize and manage service business through work orders and register transactions; know service and replacement parts.
• Assist management with customer care, work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering.
• Follow policies on cash, credit, refunds and returns; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Perform express automotive services: tire mounting/balancing, rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrication, replacements, and inspections.
• Enforce safety procedures and validate torque and service standards.
• Communicate with staff and customers; relay information clearly.
• May be required to perform opening/closing duties in designated locations.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop; adhere to all policies and safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
