Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a customer-focused associate to engage customers on the sales floor and service desk, schedule appointments, and sell parts and services for peak vehicle performance.

The role supports store operations across service desk, sales floor and register with emphasis on accuracy, courtesy, and timely follow-through. Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid license, and prior sales/auto-service experience where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge of mathematical concepts and ability to apply formulas for commissions and discounts.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store; engage customers, schedule appointments, build trust, understand needs, communicate processes and timelines, and sell parts and service to keep cars running at peak efficiency.
• Organize and manage service business through work orders and register transactions, inspections, and knowledge of parts.
• Assist in various customer care and store operations, including opening/closing responsibilities in designated locations.
• Follow policies on cash, credit, checks, refunds and returns; address customer service issues and opportunities with management.
• Conduct express automotive services such as tire services, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrications, and battery testing; perform vehicle inspections.
• Promote safety procedures and ensure torque, oil and fluid services meet SOP directives.
• Collaborate with management to maintain a safe, healthy work environment compliant with laws and company policies.
• Communicate clearly with associates, management and customers; interpret and retain information accurately.
• Maintain organized and neat shop; adhere to all policies, safety and environmental rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
