Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a service team member in Oceanside, CA, to engage customers, share expert product and service knowledge, and drive follow-through at the service desk, sales floor, and register.

You will handle inquiries, schedule appointments, and promote parts and services to ensure peak vehicle performance and customer satisfaction. The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and automotive service sales experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic math concepts for commissions and discounts.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store, scheduling appointments and selling parts and services.
• Organize and manage service work orders and register transactions; thorough vehicle inspections and knowledge of parts and services.
• Assist management with customer care, work orders, register assistance, and outside purchase ordering.
• Follow policies and procedures related to cash handling, refunds, and returns; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Perform express automotive services such as tire mounting, balancing, rotations, oil changes, and other inspections.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed, including wheel torque and oil/fluid services per SOPs.
• Collaborate with management to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers.
