Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking a full-time service desk associate to engage customers, schedule appointments, and sell parts and services that keep vehicles running efficiently. This role combines front-desk service with in-store sales and basic automotive knowledge.

The position requires a high school diploma, valid license, and about one year in automotive service or sales. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as percentages and fractions to calculate commissions and discounts.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store, engaging customers, scheduling appointments, building trust, understanding needs, communicating processes and timelines, and selling parts and service.
• Organize and drive service business through work order and register transactions, thorough vehicle inspections, and service/part knowledge.
• Assist in customer care, work order and register tasks, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering.
• Follow cash, credit, check, refund and return policies; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Perform routine express automotive services: tire mounting/balancing/rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrications, filter/bulb replacement, battery service, and inspections.
• Support safety procedures and ensure torque and lubrication services meet SOP directives.
• Collaborate with Management to maintain safe, compliant work environment.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers.
• Maintain organized and neat shop; adhere to all policies and procedures.
