Job summary

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. in Kansas City is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to serve as the primary link between customers and the service department. You will schedule appointments, create repair orders with estimates, and provide timely updates from check-in to completion.

The role requires excellent communication, automotive knowledge, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for growth within Group 1 Automotive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; automotive training or certifications are a plus.
• Prior experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance, repair processes, and vehicle systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Proven ability to upsell recommended maintenance and repairs based on vehicle needs.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple customers and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and confirm service appointments to ensure an efficient customer experience.
• Create accurate, transparent repair orders with detailed cost and time estimates.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers, technicians, and parts teams.
• Provide timely updates and clear communication throughout the repair process.
• Review inspections and confidently recommend maintenance and repair services.
• Maintain strong product, warranty, and service knowledge.
• Accurately document customer interactions and service details in the system.
