Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is seeking a customer-facing team member for our service department. You will be the first contact for customers by phone and in-store, schedule appointments, and advise on parts and services to keep vehicles running at peak efficiency.

Role requires up to one year in automotive service and sales experience. You will follow company policies, assist with work orders and maintenance tasks, and help ensure a safe, organized shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• One year of related automotive service experience.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Basic math for commissions and discounts.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store; engages customers, schedules appointments, builds trust, communicates processes and timelines, and sells parts and service to optimize vehicle performance.
• Organizes and drives productivity of the service business through work orders, register transactions, vehicle inspections, and product knowledge.
• Assists in customer care, work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering under management guidance.
• Follows policies on cash, credit, checks, refunds, and returns; collaborates with management on customer service issues and business opportunities.
• Conducts express automotive services, including tire mounting/balancing, rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrications, and inspections.
