Job summary

Inalfa Roof Systems seeks a Product Engineer I to develop improved or new roof-system designs for automotive sunroofs. You will direct building, modification and testing to ensure designs meet customer and company specs.

The role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and interfaces with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to drive changes, analyze root causes, and support cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors’ degree or equivalent; or 2–5 years automotive experience and/or training.
• Language: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and regulations.
• Mathematical: Comfort with statistics and geometry, ratios and proportions.
• Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the engineering change process.
• Support DOE activities and DFMEA updates.
• Collaborate on DFM/DFA analyses with manufacturing engineering.
• Assist with plant build issues and root cause analysis.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and supplier technical input.
• Provide technical input for customer assembly plant issues.
• Utilize CAD to view/update drawings and support Kaizen activities.
