Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing, a leading automotive supplier, seeks a Document Control Manager to oversee the lifecycle of engineering, manufacturing and quality documents at our Walker, MI office. You will implement controls, maintain EDMS, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Reporting to senior management, you will collaborate with engineers, designers and QA to drive audits, control changes, and document retention while supporting a fast-paced, safety‑minded environment.

Qualifications

• Preferably a bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, business administration, or related field.
• Typically 5+ years of document control experience in automotive.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
• Strong understanding of document lifecycle management.
• Experience with EDMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement document control processes and procedures.
• Maintain EDMS and track all automotive documents.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for reviews and approvals.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Manage document retention and regulatory changes.
• Train employees on document control processes and tools.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory assessments.
