Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join a growing company. Inspectors are the face of ACV, talking with clients to explain vehicle conditions and ensure accuracy and trust in our reports.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections at dealerships, preparing condition reports, assisting sales with product knowledge, andTraveling to sites to capture photos and document vehicle status. A passion for cars and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Aptitude for problem solving and resourcefulness.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication to understand customer needs.
• Valid driver’s license with insured vehicle.
• Familiarity with relevant software and web apps.
• Ability to perform manual labor (standing, lifting up to 25 lbs).
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission.
• Vision to identify defects.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage and mechanical problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products.
• Interface regularly with dealers to develop client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Take multiple, overall, and damage photos and upload them to the image server.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize ACV Auctions platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
